The Fundació Parc Taulí is an entity created by the Corporació Sanitària Parc Taulí in order to promote and manage aspects related to teaching, training, and research, both related to scientific-medical activities and the management and organization of healthcare activity.

It was founded on January 25, 1993 by the Corporació Sanitària Parc Taulí (CSPT) in Sabadell, the Caixa Sabadell, and Sabadell Mutual. Apart from its original promoters, the FPT is sponsored by other important institutions, including the UDIAT Diagnostic Center, BancSabadell, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sabadell, and the Mútua Sabadellenca Fundació Privada.

The FPT facilitates our professionals’ work and its activity is oriented toward improving healthcare. Its main objectives are to promote, encourage, favor, and disseminate research, training, and teaching projects carried out by professionals working at the centers, services, and facilities of the Corporació, in Sabadell and in our reference area.

To improve and contribute to the conditions in which research is carried out, the FPT promotes and subsidizes research projects and provides economic and administrative management for researchers, as well as assistence in the search for financing for scientific and medical research.

Since its inception, one of the key aims of the foundation has been to reinforce biomedical teaching and training, both for established professionals and those new to the field. For this reason, the FPT carries out numerous activities such as continuing education, undergraduate and postgraduate courses, grant assignment, and the organization of numerous scientific acts. Since 1999, the Fundació Parc Taulí has been recognized as a University Institute affiliated to the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).

To improve the efficacy of its operations and increase the impact of its actions, the foundation encourages national and international ties with universities, institutions, and industries in the healthcare sector and civil society. Since its inception, the FPT has strived for integration into the economic and social fabric of its environment, has promoted the participation of professionals and patients alike, and has encouraged dialogue between them.

The FPT, in collaboration the Corporació Sanitària Parc Taulí and the City Council of Sabadell, is the prime mover in the Parc de Salut project. The Parc de Salut is destined to be a pioneer in research and innovation in the areas of medicine and health and will be centered on innovation in new technologies applied to medicine.
