Ambulance services are classified as urgent or non-urgent.

Urgent transportation
Anyone can ask for emergency transportation to the nearest hospital by calling 061.

Non-urgent transportation
The attending physician must ask for transportation to the healthcare center for a scheduled appointment. 
In this case:

1. The patient needs the authorization provided by the physician who has ordered the transportation to the center, between two centers, or for diagnostic tests from the primary care center or hospital. 


2. The patient or family member must contact the ambulance service at least two days in advance to ensure that adequate resources are available.
